Echolink

All EchoLink stations are given a 4, 5 or 6 digit node number when this number is sent via DTMF to the link it will try to connect to the station.

For example if you try to connect to me 62881 the system will respond with “connecting to G7HMV” then “connected”. If I am not online you will hear “62881 not found”.

When connection is established you then use the link like a simplex frequency.

The link can accept 4 connections via the Internet so you may well hear other people connect at the same time as your connection. If this happens you will be able to hear them just as you would on a simplex frequency.

When you are finished please send ## to disconnect, leaving the link free for the next user. If you send 08 at any time the link will respond with who is connected. Remember to voice Identify yourself before entering DTMF tones and on each over.

EchoTime

The Link is running Echo time which enables a voice ID.

In addition to this makes available some other information such as local weather and RSGB News Items.

If you have any questions about the link or would just like to pass on a radio report please contact me.

My Link

The node will identify every 15 mins in Morse and every 30 mins with a voice message.

The radio (Yeasu FT-1802) is running 5w to a co-linear antenna up at the apex of the house.

Home Brew Controller

The node controller I use was designed by G4KQU, you can download the details from the link below. The controller costs only a few pounds to make.
